Scotty Hills
VIC Fest - 2014 St. Anne's Academy, Victoria British Columbia. A celebration of local arts, music, food and beverage.
Scotty Hills came into prominence in the Western Canadian music scene when he was still in his teens. He quickly became known as that artist who could play drums, sing from behind the kit, and do both really well. A songwriter as well, Hills was in bands that garnered him a part in WCMA and Maple Blues Awards, as well as a Juno nomination.
Performance highlights for Hills include moments with musical mentors, including a show singing Howlin’ Wolf songs with legendary Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin at The Winnipeg Jazz Festival. He tours part time in Guitarmageddon, featuring Wide Mouth Mason’s Shaun Verreault and Jordan Cook (ReignWolf). He has opened for Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, Sarah Harmer, Luke Doucet, Tegan and Sarah. His co-writing credits include Tony Green (Snoop Dog, Warren G), Jerrod Bettis (Adele, Serena Ryder, One Republic) and collaborations with DJ Reflex (Kanyne West, John Legend, Common).
